Manchester High School opened in the fall of 1992 as a middle school. The original high school building proudly served the community for 50 years, from 1914-1964. The original location was at the intersection of Route 360 and Elkhardt Road. It was originally named Elkhardt and renamed Manchester District High School in 1922. In 1964 the building was moved to 7401 Hull Street Road. There were a total of 36 classrooms, five science labs, and a language lab in three buildings with a capacity of 1,200 students. The per pupil expenditure was $325 a year in 1964.
In 2018 our building was demolished and replaced with a 139,000-square-foot structure. Our new home includes over 40 general classrooms, science and tech labs, and flex spaces along with a full-size competition gymnasium, 600-seat auditorium, and 400-student capacity cafeteria. Our inaugural class opened the building in August 2020.
